Rookie Rankings, Week 18: An Otto Porter Sighting

The best thing about top overall pick Anthony Bennett’s tremendously disappointing rookie season is that it has provided cover for some tremendously disappointing seasons by other rookies. Namely, Otto Porter. Porter was taken third in the 2013 draft by the Washington Wizards and has been worse than Bennett. Much worse. Bennett is averaging 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting just 35 percent from the floor. Pedestrian numbers, for sure, and unacceptable for a top pick who is expected to contribute right away. Rookie Rankings, Week 6: Do We Have Another High Lottery Bust?

Is it too early to say whether we have another lottery bust on our hands? It has been well-documented what’s going on in Cleveland with Anthony Bennett, the top overall pick in the 2013 draft who has been absolutely awful this season. Wizards’ Bradley Beal out at least two weeks with leg injury

Bad news for the Wizards, who have yet to see a minute of No. 3 pick Otto Porter. Here’s the press release: The Washington Wizards announced today that guard Bradley Beal has been diagnosed with a stress injury to his proximal right fibula.  He will miss the next two weeks and then be re-evaluated.   The injury was diagnosed by team doctors following an MRI exam on Monday after Beal experienced soreness in his right leg.
