It’s been a tumultuous week for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After a solid four-game win streak against teams like the New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks, the script has been flipped in Northeast Ohio. The Cavs are now on a four-game losing streak. An ugly losing streak. At times, we’ve seen glimpses of the brilliance of coach David Blatt’s offense. Unfortunately, at the same time, we’ve seen a nonexistent defense and a let’s-stand-around-and-watch-someone-dribble offense. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Chris Bosh saw too much ‘pressure’ in Houston, Chris Paul laments lack of home support
Besides money, why did Chris Bosh choose to re-sign for what appears to be a middling, post-LeBron era with the Miami Heat? Because in Bosh’s eyes, forming a bigger NBA title contender with the Houston Rockets would’ve been “nothing but pressure”. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: LeBron, Cavaliers on Scoring Spree
LeBron James $11000 scored 41 to lead a great comeback in Boston last night, after the Cavs surrendered 42 points in the third quarter. That’s three in a row for Cleveland, with an average score of 117-111. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Rose’s teammates supportive of his long-term health comments, Griffin charged with misdemeanor battery
Derrick Rose said some interesting things about the reason behind the decision to sit out certain games over the first couple of weeks after tweaking both of his ankles in just the second game of the season. That’s not to say there won’t be overachievers and bargains in the other three, only that we focus first on those two first. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Pau Gasol Spends Time With Rocky in Philly
Chicago Bulls big man Pau Gasol has helped the team get off to a quick start, going 4-1 in their first five games. The Spaniard was the key free agent signing the team made over the summer to help solidify an already solid frontcourt with Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson. Gasol had a busy summer. He signed with the Bulls after leaving behind Kobe Bryant in LA, and was also a member of Spain’s National Team that played in the FIBA
Fantasy Spin: Big Bucks Available on Busy Friday
If you predicted lopsided wins on Thursday for the Rockets and Blazers, congratulations. Hope you cashed in big time. I tried to take advantage of lineup changes, inserting the four Spurs who inherited extra minutes, and — thanks to Dwight Howard — still managed to turn a small profit. [Read more…]
