NEW YORK — Avery Bradley’s statistics will never do him justice. Ever. The kind of perimeter defense the third-year guard out of Texas plays is on par with the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Bryant and Howard deny feud rumors, Magic Johnson rips everyone on the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are officially in big trouble. Literally. Sitting eleventh in the Western Conference and three games behind the eighth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers, the Lakers received news that their primary bigs in Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill have all suffered injuries, which will cause them to miss an unknown number of games for the foreseeable future (more on that below). This is absolutely the last thing this team needed, given its continued struggles on both ends of the floor.
Rondo suspended one game for bumping ref
NEW YORK — Thou shalt not bump a referee — or else thou shall pay a price. Rajon Rondo learned that lesson Monday when the NBA suspended him for one game without pay for making contact with a game official and failure to cooperate with a league investigation, it was announced by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations. The incident involving the official occurred with 3:19 remaining in the third quarter of the Celtics’ 89-81 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on

This probably would not have been

Before our daily Spin around the NBA, kudos to “bpovlins“, who won $100 in our Freeroll last night with DeMarcus Cousins and Kyrie Irving anchoring his team. It was a photo-finish (1/2 point, or one missed shot) over “bt111”, but $60 for second is a nice consolation prize. [Read more…]

Time and time again, we see players get tripped up or sprain an ankle from cameramen sitting closer to game action than they really should be. Also, will the power forward really be okay with coming off the bench, long-term? These questions – though perhaps not immediately as the players become re-acclimated with each other – will soon be answered with Stoudemire reportedly ready to play his first game of the season on Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers at home in
