Maybe the Heat were overconfident, or wanted to give the D.C. fans a thrill. They didn’t turn up the defensive intensity until the fourth quarter, when their shots didn’t fall. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Grizz screwed in San Antonio; More reactions to the Spurs’ 250K fine
Gregg Popovich and the Spurs got their money’s worth. Now, it’s a question of whether the refs should be fined. Helped by an egregious non-call late in overtime, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night 99-95, rallying from a 15-point deficit in the second half behind some great play from their well-rested Big Three. SH Blog: Jeff Van Gundy, Wojnarowski and more react to David Stern’s fine
Be it a fine or a suspension, we knew something big and bad was coming from commissioner David Stern. He had no choice but to do something significant after apologizing to the fans for what Gregg Popovich did and promising “substantial sanctions” against the San Antonio Spurs just before the start of their contest against the Miami Heat on Thursday. Instead, the veteran stars have stepped up their games. Tim Duncan outscored Nikola Vucevic 13-0 by halftime and Tony Parker (14 PTS, 8 AST) was needed for less than 30 minutes. Manu Ginobili was brilliant as the sixth man, hitting 6-of-9, all from 3-point
