Points were hard to come by in the NBA on Sunday, which meant close but no cigar for my daily fantasy teams. [Read more…]
Tweet of the Night: Jordan Crawford is less than thrilled with the play of Trey Burke
Former Golden State Warriors backup guard Jordan Crawford is no longer in the NBA after finding a home in China in the offseason. He still has great interest in what’s going on in the league, though, and tweets about various NBA activities from time to time. On Monday, he set his eyes on the game between Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz. After seeing Chris Paul notch a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists against Trey Burke, who had
Tweet of the Night: Draymond Green calls out lying Lakers fan, hilarity ensues
NBA fans on twitter will sometimes claim to be bolder than they actually are. Most of the time, these select fans can get away with their lies or schemes simply because no one can prove them otherwise. Usually. Take this one guy named Matthew Le who goes by the twitter handle “mrmatteo”, for example. The fan took a picture with Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green while getting his basketball autographed. Instead of saying something along the lines of “Green is a great guy!”,
Five Things To Watch: Utah Jazz
Perhaps no team in the NBA has moved on from its past and looked toward its future more than the Utah Jazz. Virtually all of the ties to the great Jazz teams of the 1990s are gone. In their place are a rookie coach and a starting lineup that figures to have no one older than 24. The Jazz won’t be much better than last season, when they lost 57 games, their most since arriving in Salt Lake City from New Orleans

Chicago Bulls forward Doug McDermott, coming off a First Team selection at the recently completed Las Vegas Summer League, is among two rookie rookie chosen for the USA Select Team announced Tuesday. McDermott averaged 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in four games in Las Vegas. He was joined by Boston Celtics rookie guard Marcus Smart, who averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists over five games in the Orlando Summer League. The Select Team is a group of players younger than
Tweet of the Day: NBA All-Rookie Team Announced, Player Reaction
Thursday afternoon the NBA unveiled the 2013-14 NBA All-Rookie Team, celebrating this past season’s top young athletes. One name you will not see on the the team is the Cleveland Cavaliers’ No.1 overall draft pick Anthony Bennett, who only played in 52 games, averaging 4.2 points and three rebounds in just 12.8 minutes per game. He is just the fifth top overall draft pick to miss the All-Rookie team in 26 years. There were quite a few young rookies deserving of the
More Than Half of 2013 Lottery Picks Fail to Make All-Rookie Teams
With the NBA still buzzing from Tuesday’s draft lottery and the anticipation of next month’s loaded draft, it is only fitting that we offer good riddance to one of the worst draft classes in recent memory. Among the 14 lottery picks of the 2013 draft, a staggering eight did not make the NBA All-Rookie Teams announced Thursday. They were top pick Anthony Bennett, No. 3 Otto Porter, No. 5 Alex Len, No. 6 Nerlens Noel, No. 7 Ben McLemore, No. 8
Michael Carter-Williams wins Rookie of the Year; Plumlee gets more First Place votes than Burke
The nice thing about the voting for NBA awards this season is that we don’t always have to concentrate on the winner, we can concentrate on the voters at times, too. Like when the news of who won is not all that unexpected. The most important thing to know is that Michael Carter-Williams of the Philadelphia 76ers won the award with 104 of 124 first-place votes, including mine. Victor Oladipo of the Orlando Magic was second, picking up 16 first-place votes; and Trey
